New York Flights

Washington DC is quite possibly one of the most awe-inspiring cities, not just in the United States, but in the world. It is the home of American politics, the US mint and the Pentagon, and should be a ‘must visit’ for anyone with even the first interest in politics.

Travelsupermarket.com says: "If the Universe revolves around power and influence, then Washington DC, is surely the centre of the world. It is filled with grand buildings and historic landmarks, impressive museums and wide open green parks. Any trip to Washington DC, is a voyage of political discovery with all of the democratic ideals on display, but there is more beneath the surface including excellent restaurants, a lively nightlife and an emerging gay scene."

Of course, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t look for the best possible deal on a flight to Washington, and by following a few of the tips below, you can save yourself a great deal of cash:

Be flexible when you travel

If you can afford to not be too picky about when you travel, you could save yourself a noticeable amount of money. Quite often, flying in the middle of the week will work out cheaper, as fewer people fly then and as a result, airlines drop their ticket prices. Obviously, if the cost of an extra night in a hotel negates the difference then this isn’t a good idea, but if you’re staying with friends or family it may well be worth looking into.

Book as far in advance if you can

If possible, book flights as soon as they become available – they will be cheaper at this time than any other. The latest you should book flights is a month or so before you travel, after this prices are likely to be far higher.

Try to avoid ‘busy’ dates

Many people go away for holidays, and as a result the days either side of these events (Thanksgiving, for example) can often be expensive – but flights to Washington are often cheaper as far fewer people fly that day.

Shop around

There are now so many bargain basement air travel companies operating all over the world, it can be difficult to know exactly whether you have got the best deal or not without using a comparison service. Travelsupermarket.com compares flights from a huge number of different providers, saving you both time and money that you can use to start enjoying your holiday with!
